Time Efficiency
Sessions never exceed twenty minutes. Staff return to work promptly without schedule disruption.
Movement Lab
The Movement Lab is the research and design hub of Strainingearth — where we refine every stretch, break pattern, and group activity for modern office life.
Our Philosophy
We reject the idea that wellness requires leaving the office or changing clothes. The Movement Lab develops micro-routines that respect professional settings while genuinely addressing the physical demands of desk work.
Every technique is tested with real office teams in Wellington before it appears in a Strainingearth program.
Core Principles
These principles guide every session Strainingearth delivers across New Zealand.
Sessions never exceed twenty minutes. Staff return to work promptly without schedule disruption.
All movements are low-impact and adaptable for varying fitness levels and mobility ranges.
Techniques are simple enough to perform solo at any desk without a facilitator present.
Facilitator Training
Our facilitators complete intensive training at the Movement Lab before working with client teams. They learn to read room dynamics, adjust routines on the fly, and encourage participation without pressure.
Research Process
The Movement Lab reviews occupational health literature and ergonomic best practices, then translates findings into accessible routines. Each technique undergoes pilot testing with volunteer office groups before wider release.
This iterative process ensures strainingearth.world programs remain current and effective for New Zealand workplaces.
Session Structure
Two minutes of gentle breathing and neck mobility to transition from focused screen work.
Ten minutes of guided stretches targeting the areas most affected by prolonged sitting.
Three minutes of posture awareness and a takeaway tip staff can use before their next meeting.
Outcomes
Organisations partnering with Strainingearth report positive feedback regarding staff comfort, break consistency, and overall workplace satisfaction.
Based on post-session client feedback surveys. Individual results may vary.
